The Christendom College Players will present Agatha Christie’s Appointment With Death, on November 12-14 at the Warren County Skyline High School Auditorium in Front Royal, Virginia.
Appointment With Death tells the story of Dr. Theodore Gerard, who while holidaying in Jerusalem, overhears Raymond Boynton telling his sister: “You do see, don’t you, that she’s got to be killed?” The Boynton’s mother is a sadistic tyrant who attracts the strong dislike of many people around her—including her family. When she is found dead, Gerard works with his friends to solve the case.
The play will be directed by Christendom Alumnus Peter Smith and Dr. Patrick Keats, a Christendom English professor.
“With Agatha Christie, you never know who the murderer is—nobody is exempt from suspicion,” says Keats. “The play is a great study in family psychology as well.”
“It’s going to be really suspenseful play with some amazingly talented performers,” says sophomore and actress Olivia Aveni. “I am really impressed with our freshmen performers who are doing an excellent job acting in their first play. Even though it’s a murder mystery, it is also very funny and there is a lot of comedic talent provided by Phillip Briggs, Joe Duca, and Steve Curtin.”
Showtimes will be Friday, November 12, at 8 p.m., Saturday, November 13, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 14, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and $3 for children 12 and under.
