College Mourns the Loss of Good Friend Judge Robert Bork

The Honorable Robert H. Bork, 85, died in a hospital in Arlington, Va., on Wednesday, December 19, due to heart problems and complications. Judge Bork, who was nominated to the United States Supreme Court by President Ronald Reagan in 1987 and voted down by the Senate, was only the 12th Supreme Court nominee to be rejected in U.S. history. On December 11, Christendom College philosophy professor Michael Brown was awarded the Arlington diocese’s Ex Corde Award at the annual Youth & Campus Ministry Appreciation Dinner held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall in Herndon, Va. Christendom College President Dr. Timothy O'Donnell will deliver a lecture on December 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Spirit Church Hall in Annandale, Va. History Professor Dr. Christopher Shannon Wins Fellowship

Dr. Christopher Shannon, Associate Professor of History, won a fellowship this year in support of a research project titled “The Salvation of the Nations: Sacred and Secular Narratives of Progress in the Postwar West.” Shannon’s project is one of several funded through a major research initiative, “Religion and Innovation in Human Affairs,” sponsored by The Historical Society, an international scholarly organization based at Boston University. Christendom College Launches a New Catholic Radio Station in Front Royal

Christendom College announces the launch of its new EWTN Catholic radio station WXDM 90.3 FM. The station officially started uninterrupted broadcasting on Friday, November 30. WXDM is the first Catholic radio station to broadcast from Virginia. The radio station is broadcasting the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network, which will provide an around-the-clock feed of authentic Catholic radio coverage.
