Five Christendom College basketball athletes were nominated for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National All-Academic Team, which requires a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.
Senior Mark Hepler, junior Jonathan Fioramonti, senior Tim Beer, sophomore John Hill, and senior Brendan Krebs made the All-Academic Team.
“It is truly a testament of the character and desire for excellence in these young men. Making the honor roll at Christendom is no small feat, but doing it during the intense and long 5-month basketball season is a great accomplishment,” Athletic Director Chris Vander Woude says. “They are a great example of what we are trying to promote in the athletic department—the Catholic scholar-athlete.”
The Crusader athletic program offers varsity-level soccer (for men and women), basketball (for men and women), baseball and rugby (for men), and volleyball (for women). The program also boasts a popular intramural program, in which over 50% of the student body regularly participates.
The USCAA is a national organization that exists to provide quality athletic competition on a regional and national level. The USCAA focuses specifically on smaller institutions of higher learning and their student athletes. For more information, visit theuscaa.com.
