All of the 2013-14 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists recently received notification as to whether they were selected as finalists. And Christendom College wants to reward those who were selected as finalists by giving them full-tuition scholarships.
“We believe that these finalists will find Christendom’s academic program very rewarding, and most certainly very challenging,” says Admissions Director Tom McFadden. “Although we have not been able to reward National Merit finalists in the past, we have still attracted a fair number of them. Now, with the offer of free tuition, I am sure we will see more finalists enrolling.”
According to McFadden, the college is only offering a limited number of full-tuition scholarships for this year’s National Merit Scholarship finalists, but hopes to add even more in the future.
“Right now, we have received five finalist certificates from interested prospective students, and that’s a great start,” says McFadden. “That’s about all anyone has to do—send in a copy of their award certificate, along with all the regular application materials—and they are eligible to get one of the scholarships. They are limited and will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.”
