Christendom Basketball Sensation Burgess Second in Nation in Scoring

December 14, 2014

basketball_0943Lady Crusader Freshman forward Bryn Burgess is the second leading scorer in the nation, with an average of 22.7 points per game, according to the most recent USCAA ranking.

An amazing aspect of her second place ranking is that Burgess, a graduate of Seton School in Manassas, Va., where she was a star player, has started in only 5 of the first 7 games. The current scoring leader is Cianna Peterson, from Vaughn College, who has started 6 out of 7 games.

The Lady Crusaders are looking forward to the return of Mary Barbale to the team in the spring semester. Barbale has been studying in Rome this past semester and is excited to rejoin the team in January.  Barbale holds the college record of the most points scored in a game by a Lady Crusader – 40 points.  Burgess came close to beating Barbale this semester with a 36-point game.

With Barbale and Burgess on the same court, next semester’s games are sure to be high scoring, and exciting. The Lady Crusaders’ next game will be on Friday night, January 23, 2015, at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Va.
