Christendom’s athletic department launched its new Crusader athletics website today. Featuring a new, streamlined design and up-to-the-minute updates for all athletic events, the new website provides prospective and current students, alumni, and competitors with a central location to view all things related to Christendom’s vibrant athletic program.
The website, which is powered by PrestoSports, the website manager for the USCAA, utilizes the latest in website technology to provide visitors an ideal way to keep up-to-date on the latest from Christendom athletics. These pages provide readers with top stories for each individual sport, along with schedules, game results, rosters, and player statistics.
“The athletic and marketing departments saw the need to enhance our athletics website to provide a vibrant, informative site that will provide guests with a great product that promotes our entire athletic program, from intercollegiate to intramurals,” says Joshua Petersen, Christendom’s athletic director.
Christendom’s emphasis on a well-rounded education extends to the athletic department, where every athlete is expected to lead in virtue, both on and off the court. This function of the athletic program is highlighted by an “athlete of the week” profile.
“Our athletes are well-rounded, and exemplify the best of what Christendom College looks to provide for every student. Our alumni, current students, and competitors will be able to see this now, weekly,” says Petersen.
With new Christendom athletics Instagram and Twitter accounts launching as well, the department will be able to provide Crusaders fans with updated scores, stories, and imagery, all in one central location for the first time.
The introduction of the athletics website adds to the new initiatives already being undertaken to improve the athletic department at the college, such as the renovation of Crusader Gymnasium with all new, commercial-grade exercise and weight equipment this past December. With new sports, such as women’s softball and men’s and women’s cross-country, joining the college’s rich set of athletic offerings as well, Christendom hopes to attract students who are interested in being student athletes, who will become leaders on and off the field, and work to restore all things in Christ after graduation.
