Christendom College will host an Open House on Monday, April 25, on its Front Royal, Va., campus. Featuring exclusive talks, the chance to experience Christendom’s rigorous liberal arts classes, a tour of campus, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with the college’s faculty, staff, and student body, the event is free of charge and is open to all interested students and their families.
“Our college has been recognized repeatedly in the past for our challenging, authentic Catholic liberal arts education, our vibrant social life, and our one-of-a-kind personalized academic attention. You may hear about these things, but, in order to truly understand them, you need to visit our beautiful campus and experience them for yourself. Our Open House events give prospective students and their families the perfect means to do just that, all in the span of one day on our campus,” says director of admissions Sam Phillips.
When prospective students and their families arrive at Christendom, they will begin their day with an opening address from college president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell, followed by presentations on the importance of a liberal arts education and on the great success alumni find after graduation.
After the initial talks, visiting students will be able to sit in on classes with Christendom’s esteemed faculty and student body, experiencing first-hand the dynamic atmosphere that exists in every class at Christendom. While students are in class, parents will be able to learn more about the college’s robust financial aid offerings, along with the importance of choosing a Catholic college in today’s era.
Students and their families will break after class to attend Mass in the college’s Christ the King Chapel — the center of Christendom’s campus and everyday life — followed by lunch with the student body, faculty, and staff, Afterwards, the college’s admissions team will lead visitors on a comprehensive tour of Christendom’s campus, from St. John the Evangelist Library — one of the most beautiful buildings in Virginia — to the college’s recently renovated Crusader Gymnasium and John Paul the Great Student Center.
To finish the day, students and their families will learn all about Christendom’s study abroad opportunities, and then have the chance for a Q & A session with admissions director Sam Phillips, vice president for enrollment Tom McFadden, and the rest of the college’s admissions team.
