Christendom College’s early action application window officially opened on September 1, giving students the opportunity to gain early admission to the college for the fall of 2017. Applying early guarantees prospective students an answer before Christmas, giving them a significant advantage in making their college decision.
“This is not an education for the faint of heart, or for those who are willing to settle for mediocrity. We’re looking for students who are aspiring for excellence in their academic pursuits, their spiritual lives, and in their future careers. If you’re looking for this kind of education, we encourage you to get together your application materials and apply as soon as possible,” says director of admissions Sam Phillips.
“If you’re accepted, unlike at other colleges, you are not bound to follow through on the acceptance and enroll. Because of that, there’s really no reason not to apply,” says Phillips.
Christendom is in the midst of increasing acclaim and tremendous growth. The college recently welcomed the freshmen class of 2020, which helped give the college a new record enrollment and allowed the total student body to grow a planned 2%, in a time when many other colleges are seeing their enrollments shrinking.
After nearly doubling the size of its campus over the past year to 200 gorgeous acres, and with plans to open the new residence hall which will house up to 96 females in 2017 and a recently renovated St. Lawrence Commons and kitchen, the college is in a great position to bring in its largest class in its history in the fall of 2017.
The admissions office reports that it has seen a 20% growth in applications over the past two years, drawing in a higher percentage of male applicants and enrollees, increasing its selectivity by lowering the acceptance rate, while maintaining an average SAT score of around 1800 for this new incoming class.
Students who wish to take advantage of the early action application process must submit all parts of their application by December 1. All of those accepted by December 15 will have until March 15 to send in a deposit to claim their spot in the class of 2021.
In order to apply, students must complete the free online application, and write one essay on a specific topic found on the application. Along with completing these two steps, students must submit an academic letter of recommendation, their high school and/or college transcripts, and their official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores.
