October 25, 2016

soccer-star-carlosThree months of intense competition is coming to a close, with the Crusader soccer teams set to wrap up their seasons this week. Both will be aiming for strong finishes to their seasons, with the Crusaders playing at home on the 25th and 29th, and the Lady Crusaders playing at home on the 26th and away on the 28th.

The Crusaders are rolling into their final two matches on an incredible streak, winning eight of their last nine games. Their record of 9-3 is just one win off of 2015’s record, strong enough to tie them for #7 in the national standings, and to earn the #13 spot in the nation on the USCAA Coaches’ Poll.

Led by top scorers Pete Day, currently the fourth best scorer in the nation, and James Foeckler, the team has battled off youth and high expectations to defeat some of their biggest adversaries, including Potomac State College and Washington Adventist. With two games left to play, the Crusaders have already ensured that they will have another winning season, cementing their place as one of the most successful sports programs in recent school history.
