  • Full-Time Position, Dean of Student Life: Christendom College warmly welcomes candidates for its position of Dean of Student Life. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. The position is as follows: Christendom College is a liberal arts institution that is devoted to providing a curriculum grounded in natural and revealed truth. The College is dedicated to forming the whole person for a life spent in the pursuit of truth and wisdom. Flowing from this education is formation of moral character and the fostering of the spiritual life. This education prepares students for their role as faithful, informed, and articulate members of Christ’s Church and society. In order to prepare men and women “to restore all things in Christ,” Christendom College works to form students who are positioned and prepared to contribute to the renovation of the world. Christendom College seeks to enhance its academic program by assisting in the formation of young people through the various components of the Student Life Experience. The Dean of Students must be a personable individual dedicated to the mission of Christendom College by assisting college students in all areas of their formation. This is a full time, 12-month position with full benefits and salary commensurate with experience. The position includes night, weekend and “on call” responsibilities throughout the academic year. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President. A brief summary of responsibilities of the Dean of Student Life include the following: responsible for overseeing the various departments within Student Life including, Residence Life, Athletics, Rome Experience, Student Activities, Health Resources, and Missions and Outreach; play an integral role in the formation of students and in such role sets the tone for the student experience outside the classroom; provides leadership and direction in the formation of the student body as a whole, as well as with the specific formation of men on campus; updates Student Life Policy including disciplinary policies; work with the Director of Residence Life in formulating and implementing the rules governing the student life; handle all conduct issues involving men on campus and high level situations; oversee the proper coordination and facilitation of the following events/initiatives: Welcome Weekend Committee (Orientation), Parents Weekend, Women’s Convocation, Housing Selection, RA Selection; provide fiscal management for Student Life budget; meet with students who are struggling and make counseling referrals when such referrals are deemed necessary; responsible for crisis response, risk management and serves in the “on call” rotation with other staff; regularly meet with the Executive Vice President and President to inform them of student highlights, concerns and issues; oversee security on campus; manage the Annual Work Plan process for Student Life including serving on accreditation senior leadership team, and participate and contribute in broader Student Life programs, events, and initiatives.

The position is as follows: Christendom College is a Catholic liberal arts institution that is devoted to providing a curriculum grounded in natural and revealed truth. The College is dedicated to forming the whole person for a life spent in the pursuit of truth and wisdom. Flowing from this education is formation of moral character and the fostering of the spiritual life. This education prepares students for their role as faithful, informed, and articulate members of Christ’s Church and society. In order to prepare men and women “to restore all things in Christ,” Christendom College works to form students who are positioned and prepared to contribute to the renovation of the world. Christendom College seeks to enhance its offerings with the cultural, intellectual and spiritual enrichment which comes from involvement on campus and studying in Rome. The Director of Student Activities and Rome Program Preparation must be a personable individual dedicated to assisting college students with all aspects of formation. This is a full time, 12-month position with full benefits and salary commensurate with experience. The position includes frequent night and weekend responsibilities throughout the academic year. This position reports to the Dean of Student Life. A brief summary of responsibilities of the Director of Student Activities include the following: oversee the Student Activities Council (SAC) and all other officially recognized student organizations at Christendom College; provide leadership and guidance to all organized student activities; play an integral role in the formation of students, and in such role, sets the tone for much of the student experience outside the classroom; advise and offer guidance when necessary to the members of SAC and other student organizations in the performance of their duties; organize and oversee major events such as the March for Life and Discernment Weekend.
  • Full-Time Position, Residence Coordinator, Rome Program (Female): Christendom College warmly welcomes female candidates for its position of Residence Coordinator of our Rome Program. Review of applications will begin March 1, 2017 and will continue until the positions are filled. The position is as follows: Christendom College is a liberal arts institution that is devoted to providing a curriculum grounded in natural and revealed truth. The College is dedicated to forming the whole person for a life spent in the pursuit of truth and wisdom. Flowing from this education is formation of moral character and the fostering of the spiritual life. This education prepares students for their role as faithful, informed, and articulate members of Christ’s Church and society. In order to prepare men and women “to restore all things in Christ,” Christendom College works to form students who are positioned and prepared to contribute to the renovation of the world. Christendom College’s Rome Programs seeks to enhance its academic offerings with the cultural, intellectual and spiritual enrichment which comes from living and studying in Rome. Our program is located within the heart of Rome and the heart of the Church. Students are within walking distance from the Vatican and Rome’s Historic Center. The program visits Florence, Siena and Assisi and provides students with other opportunities to travel throughout the region. The Residence Coordinator (RC) is responsible for assisting the Director of Rome Administration and Student Life (DRASL) and Director of Rome Academics in all aspects of the Rome Program. The Residence Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Student Life Office during periods not in Rome on a part time basis. This is a full time live-in position in Rome (approximately 6 months) and a part time live-in position in Front Royal (approximately 6 months). The RC provides leadership and direction in the formation of the Rome Program students as a whole, as well as with the specific formation of female students. A brief summary of responsibilities of the RC includes the following: perform various administrative and logistical tasks in Rome in coordination with the Rome Directors; maintain a vibrant and ordered community within the student residence, which includes building the community life, spiritual life and supporting the academic aspects of the program; responsible for maintaining a clean and safe residence community by means room inspections, curfew enforcement and student conflict resolution; facilitate and participate in all aspects of the program, including applicable tours and trips; enforce the code of Student Conduct and Rome Program policies; provide support and serve as a liaison for students in difficult health and well-being circumstances. While in Front Royal, responsibilities include: working with the Director of Career Development to support and develop aspects of Christendom’s career development initiatives and especially the Education for a Lifetime Program (ELP); assist/direct the New Student Orientation program for the opening of the academic year; support Student Life initiatives in coordination with the Dean of Students; and responsible for directing and coordinating the student Summer Housing in Front Royal including rule enforcement, room checks and check in/checkout.

The position includes night, weekend and “on call” responsibilities throughout the academic year. This position reports to the Dean of Student Life. A brief summary of responsibilities of the Residence Director includes the following: responsible for supporting the residential and community life on campus; play an integral role in the formation of students and in such role supports the Director of Residence Life (DRL) and the Dean of Students (DS) in setting the tone for much of the student experience outside the classroom; provide leadership and direction in the formation of the student body as a whole, as well as with the specific formation of women on campus; support the work of the Residence Life Office, especially with the Resident Assistants (RA), their training and development throughout the year; serve as the first point of contact in support of students within the context of a residential campus; serve as a special liaison to female students, especially within the single gender residence hall setting; maintain a safe, secure, healthy and positive living environment that enhances student development and learning; assist the DS and DRL in formulating and implementing the rules governing student life; handle minor conduct issues as outlined by the DS; coordinate and facilitate the following events/initiatives: Welcome Week Committee (Orientation), Parents Weekend, Women’s Convocation, Housing Selection, RA Selection and Dorm Wars; meet with students who are struggling and make counseling referrals when such referrals are deemed necessary; responsible for crisis response, risk management and serves in the “on call” rotation with other staff; and participate and contribute in broader Student Life programs, events and initiatives.
