I always knew I wanted to go to a faithful, truly Catholic college, but Christendom wasn’t always at the top of my list. This may have been due to the fact that I didn’t drink much coffee in high school. One never knows. Anyhow, I had decided way back in junior high that I wanted to major in theology and so wanted to go to a school that would teach what the Church teaches and not just what the professor thinks the Church should teach. I quickly realized that I would be investigating a short list of schools. I began visiting colleges and thought that I had found the right place for me when my mom asked me to make one more visit. She had seen Dr. Timothy O’Donnell, the College President, speaking on EWTN and was convinced I’d love Christendom if I gave it more consideration. I got on a plane to Virginia, bought a cup of coffee in the airport, and after my weekend visit, realized that the old adage, “Mother knows best,” is true. I loved the place. Christendom offers rigorous academics that always acknowledged and incorporated the truth of the Magisterium and vibrant, faithfully Catholic student life. I was very impressed with the College’s charism of living Catholic culture on campus and I knew it was an experience I couldn’t miss.
I came to Christendom College as an excited freshman in the fall of 2005. Over the years, my coffee intake increased, as did my learning and love of truth. I think the relationship between coffee and learning is plain, though some disagree. I graduated in May 2009 with a degree in theology and now work in the Admissions Office answering inquiries and coordinating prospective student visits to Christendom. If you would like more information about Christendom or want to come see our campus, send me an email or give me a call. I know how important visits can be!
God bless,
