Associate Director of Admissions
Hello! My name is Eve Owen and I am a 2010 graduate of Christendom College. Though I am a born and bred Oregonian, I have decided to call Front Royal, Virginia home for a bit longer in order to serve the College as an Associate Director of Admissions.
I first become acquainted with Christendom as a high school junior when I participated in the Experience Christendom Summer Program. I thoroughly enjoyed my lovely summer visit making wonderful friends, meeting professors and their families, canoeing down the Shenandoah River, and touring our nation’s capitol. A few years later I came back to Christendom as a full time student and delved into the numerous activities and opportunities the College offers.
I chose Christendom College because of its liberal arts academic program and the profoundly integrated social and spiritual life. I knew when I was researching colleges that I wanted to attend a truly Catholic school where the community and the classes would be completely seeped in the Faith as well as one that offered numerous events and activities to participate in.
And did I participate! As a student I worked in the Admissions Office as an Assistant Admissions Counselor, a precursor to what I do today! I was also incredibly involved in the Student Activities Council serving the entire student body and extended College community. My senior year I was given the honor and privilege to serve Christendom College as the Student Body President. The support and trust I was given by all my fellow students was wonderful and I truly enjoyed every opportunity I was given to organize and produce unique events such as our dances, concerts, pub nights and more!
All my time, though, was not spent simply “party planning.” When I wasn’t in the Admissions Office working or at a Student Activities Council meeting, I was in one of the many challenging, rigorous and all-around wonderful classes, which are a necessary requisite of any college experience! The integrated core curriculum gave me the ability to learn and engage in a host of subjects from philosophy and political science to American literature and French history. I majored in History as well as minored in Theology. My academic experience at Christendom is not yet finished, though. I have begun my graduate studies at Christendom College’s Graduate School and I will be studying for a Masters in Systematic Theology.
If you are interested in visiting Christendom College and participating in some of the amazing classes and events – either for a weekend or even just a day – please feel free to contact me!
