Welcome
to Christendom's Alumni E-Zine. If you have information that
you would like to share with your fellow alumni, send it to
Tom McFadden at tmcfadden@christendom.edu.
The
Grapevine Online will be uploaded, depending on the amount
of information sent to the editor, every month. It will have
a couple of sections (when information is available), namely,
Class Notes (your basic information on alumni babies,
weddings, jobs, etc.), Calendar of Events, and Links
to various recent stories about Christendom College and/or
the Alumni of Christendom.
Of
course, all comments, suggestions, and information should
be sent to tmcfadden@christendom.edu.

to wed Lynn Hoschek on May 24, 2003 in Seatlle, Washington.
Honeymoon to follow in New Zealand.
David
E. McBee (Class of 1983) joined with his family to celebrate
his parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. C. Dwan & Margie
McBee were married on April 11, 1953, in St. Vincent de Paul
Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. On the
occasion of their 50th Anniversary, they renewed their marriage
vows before Msgr. Chester P. Michael, the same priest who
witnessed their vows in 1953. I ask for your prayers for their
continued health and happiness.
Renee
(Oberlin) Mason ('99) and husband Kyle welcomed Sara Corinne,
their first baby on the morning of Friday March 21st. Sara
weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. The new family
is doing very well!
Meg
(Mathewes-Green) Parker ('99) and family are doing fine.
Hannah is 2 1/2 now and Adam is just over 8 mos. No new ones
expected anytime soon! (How un-Christendomlike, huh.)
John
('92) and Mary (Echaniz-'95) McMahon are expecting baby
#1 on August 5, 2003. They are told they will be having a
boy. Congrats!
Mary
Claire Almeter ('97) just moved to Alexandria, VA after
studying in Rome to complete her MA Theology degree with Franciscan
University of Steubenville. She is DRE at St. Louis Parish
and Fr. Jack Reilly is her boss and pastor!
West
Coast Alumni: LA bash just two weeks away!!! If you can't
make the Dr. Carroll Appreciation Dinner, settle for the next
best thing...Kristin Starcher, Kristina Hayles, and Laura
Byrne (all '02) are going to be in the Los Angeles area
from April 21 through April 26, enjoying the sun, going to
Universal Studios, star-gazing in Hollywood, visiting missions,
and day tripping to Tijuana. Come celebrate Eastertide and
the death of Lent!!! If you would like to meet up with them
while they are in California, please give Kristin Starcher
a call to coordinate plans at 310.639.4202. Look in next month's
Grapevine Online for pictures of their trip!!!
Mary
McFadden ('98) will be flying in to D.C. from Switzerland
for Easter. Don't be surprised if you run into her at Ireland's
Four Provinces between April 14th and 22nd. If there are any
parties or alumni gatherings she would love to hear about
them. Just e-mail her at mcfadden76@yahoo.com
Mark
J. (Goose) Gallagher, Jr., ('90) and his lovely wife Pauline
(Ellis) started Gallagher's Cleaning and Restoration
LLC which provides carpet and upholstery cleaning from
Front Royal throughout the entire DC area. Customers can call
540-622-4151 to schedule an appointment for work or a free
estimate or email him at mjgallagher@e3mil.com.
Mark is certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning
and Restoration Certification in Carpet Cleaning, Odor Control,
Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning, and Water Damage Restoration.
He uses a powerful ProChem truckmounted machine for carpet
cleaning and a powerful portable for furniture and for those
carpets which cannot be reached by hoses from the truck: a
19th floor apartment in Alexandria for example. He has dozens
of references. This is his third year in the industry and
his first as his own boss.
Mary Catherine Pegis ('87) has two beautiful, adorable,
intelligent nieces and five pretty cats.
John
Kelsey ('99) , Mr. Pumpkinhead himself, says, "My
feet are cold." Is there marriage in the wind or just
poor circulation?
Michael Harbaugh ('00-'01) is engaged to be married
in August of this year to a childhood sweatheart. God bless
them both!
Raymond
Hain ('02) married Dominique Flippen ('02) in January.
Ray currently works in Christendom's Admissions Office but
has recently been accepted to the graduate Philosophy program
of The University of Notre Dame. He hopes to have his Ph.D.
in Philosophy in no time.
The
following news is true, well mostly. This information has
not been sent to me by the actual individuals, rather, it
comes mostly from hearsay, second-hand sources, relatives,
or rumor.
Denise
Belleville ('94) and Elmer "Mo Fung" Woltering ('93)
were married on February 15, 2003. They are both as happy
as can be.
Katie
(Runge) Schmiedicke ('02) is pregnant.
Mike
Reese ('02) and Megan Bukowski ('97-?) are engaged to
be married in the fall.
Tom
and Heather (Carlson) McGraw sold their house and are
quite happy.
Chris
Kopeck's favorite color is yellow.
Paul
Krueger ('90) checked in with his Alma Mater. Everything
seems to be fine with him. He lives in Canada (west coast)
and is married with two to three children.
Tina
Matt ('88-'91) was lost and is now found. Well,
she was lost to the Alumni Office. She works in the DC metro
area and still hangs out with Edel Finnegan ('91).
Johnny
Meng ('01) bought a new cowboy hat. He outgrew his last
one.
Scott
Halisky ('98) is now on the coaching staff at Christendom
College. He is unmarried and is one of the college's baseball
coaches along with Chris VanderWoude ('02), who is
also unmarried .
Josh
Peterson ('01) recently registered for Homecoming 2003.
He was afraid of being shunned by the College community for
lack of responsiveness and untimeliness.
Therese
(Sayler) Zepeda ('01) is pregnant with bambino #2, due
sometime within the next nine months or thereabouts.
Jessica
Gordon (class of 2000) is engaged to Arthur DeCotiis,
Marine Corps First Lieutenant, and they are getting married
in September. And John Gordon, Mr. Smooth, is finishing
up his Masters in Theology at the Dominican House of Studies.
He'll be heading back to Montana in the next couple of weeks
so if he owes you money or a drink, make sure you hook up
with him real soon.
Marc-Pierre
Jansen ('02) is planning ski trips for high schoolers
and is generally living the life of Reilly. His brother John-Paul
('00), on the other hand, has a real life and has just

Please pray for their safe return to their families.
The
Man Behind the Pope...Paul Heisler
Over
Christendom College's Spring Break '03, Dr. O'Donnell led
a pilgrimage to Rome. The group joined up with the current
Christendom students who are studying in Rome as part of the
"Semester Abroad" program.
Besides
all of the regular activities one would imagine doing in Rome
(visiting cathedrals, monuments, ruins, etc.), the group was
granted a personal audience with the Holy Father. It was found
that there has been a certain individual acting behind the
scenes on behalf of the Pope: Paul Heisler ('90). He
can be seen in a rare appearance to the right side of His
Holiness.
