Dominick Severance ('08) and Ashley Demarco ('07) were married May 24, 2008 in Rochester, NY (where they still reside at this time). Congratulations are in order as they recently found out that they are expecting a baby due in March!

On November 5th, 2008 the Arlington Catholic Herald published a story about Paladin Financial Group. Motivated by Christendom's motto, “Restore All Things in Christ,” Paladin was founded by Alum John Clark and Jim Kelly to provide sound investment advice in an ethically-responsible fashion. Paladin has grown significantly over the years and has added two more alumni, Financial Consultant, Steven Storey as well as Executive Assistant Joan Walsh. Patrick ('02) and Jill ('01) Storey are happy to announce the arrival of Thomas Albert, born on October 19th, 7lbs., 6oz. He is pictured here with his older brothers George (left) and Andrew.

Kevin Clark ('86) has recently published his first novel, a mystery/thriller called Numbers Up. The murder mystery centers around the theory of intelligent design. Dr. Michael Behe, author of Darwin's Black Box, says of the book, "In Numbers Up Kevin Clark skillfully interweaves conflicting designs: those of spies, killers, cops, blackmailers, bankers, arms dealers, and-maybe-the Designer of life. He has the reader sitting at the edge of his seat, contemplating the brutality of this world which, despite itself, hints of another." The books is available from Seton Press at http://www.setonbooks.com/viewone.php?ToView=M-RDBK-0B

Josephine Lillian Akers (daughter of Matt and Jan Akers '03) pictured on the left would like to announce that she was born 6 months ago! Congratulations to Josephine! Helena and Ivy, her sisters, were both St. Therese at their little All Saints Party this year. Matt and Jan are doing well - still living in Royal Oak, MI for another year with the hopes of returning to VA (after 5 years in MI!) next fall.

Thomas and Audra (Powderly) Cole, '04, are pleased to announce that they were joined in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on 30 August 2008 in a Tridentine High Mass at the Parish of St. Francis de Sales in Mableton, Georgia. Father Roberto Cano, FSSP, was the celebrant, and the official witnesses were Mr. Andrew Hayes, '04, and Miss Christine Collins, '04 who acted as best man and maid of honor. A number of alumni of Christendom College came down to serve, sing, and pray for the newlyweds, for which the bride and groom are eternally grateful! After enjoying a honeymoon to the Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupré in Québec, Canada, Tom and Audra are living in Manassas, Virginia where Tom is continuing to teach at Holy Family Academy.

Scottie and Margaret (Ginski) Kay ('05) are proud to announce the birth of their first-born: Philomena Marie. She was born in October, 6lbs, 15 oz. and is a beautiful little girl. Both Mom and baby are doing well!

Marc Perrignton ('04) and Veronica Spiering ('06) were married October 18, 2008 in Powell, Wyoming at Veronica's home parish, St. Barbara's Catholic Church. The couple was blessed with beautiful weather despite the massive snow storm the previous weekend. Alumni in attendance included: Bryan Hadro (best man), Karen Spiering (maid of honor), Mark & Shalon (Spring) Riddle, Dan Corey, and Charlie & Becca (Smith) Spiering. Marc & Veronica reside in their new home in Herndon, VA.

Bernard and Melody (95') Pegis welcomed John Paul Joseph in October, a full twelve days late! He weighed 9 lb, 11 oz., and is adored by his siblings Veronica (6), Anthony (almost 4), and Anna (2), pictured on the right.

Beth (Fittin) Weiner ('90) would like to let everyone know that sher and her husband own a furniture manufacturing company, Vienna Woodworks. They make rustic furniture, bathroom vanities and custom kitchen cabinets. They also sell both wholesale to hotels, resorts, restaurants and lodges, as well as retail to the general public. Recently their company was featured in Connect Business Magazine and Christendom College got a mention in the article! Here is a link to the article: http://connectbiz.com/2008/11/vienna-woodworks-rustic-furniture-company/.

Gwen Adams ('01) just launched a blog-that's-more-like-a-website: "Christian Integration: A Fieldguide for Building Christian Culture." Any parent, teacher, pastor, or person looking for some new ways to build Christian Culture is welcome to explore the website! Gwen is also teaching 7th, 8th, and 10th grade at Trinity School at River Ridge and running a household for undergraduates in the Catholic Studies Department at the University of St. Thomas, and taking spanish! Check out her blog/website at: http://www.christianintegration.blogspot.com.

Niall and Sherry O'Donnell have a new little boy, Patrick Jerome, born September 30 (7 lbs. 6 oz.). Patrick was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Despite the defect Patrick is doing well, staying healthy and growing. If it wasn't for the echocardiogram, you'd think he was a perfectly normal baby. Nonetheless, since the defect could cause complications in the future, he will be having open-heart surgery in 3 or 4 months to correct it. Please keep Patrick in your prayers in the months ahead!

Maggie McGlynn ('07) and Cpl Garrett DeMarco were married on August 16th at St. John the Evangelist parish in Frederick, MD. The couple is now residing in Jacksonville, NC as Garrett is stationed at Camp Lejeune.

During the month of April, Nate and Jessica (Ciesla) Schuetz ('06) moved from Monterey, CA to Augusta, GA. Although they miss being close to the beautiful ocean and sealions, being within driving distance to a few friends and family members is a huge relief and well worth it. Nate is still hard at work with his studies in Arabic and continues to do well; they would like to thank everyone for all their prayers for his success! They attended Oktoberfest in Helen, GA, where they heard lots of German music, drank traditional German beer, and participated in the festivities.

Anita Torzala (attended Spring '04-Fall '04) along with working full-time for a Northern Virginia landscaping company, is now selling her nursing covers online. Join the ever growing number of alumni who are enjoying the convenience and style of Concordia Nursing Covers (named after St. Concordia, the patron saint of nursing mothers.)
