Christendom Student Honored by Phillips Foundation

The Phillips Foundation has awarded Junior Rand Brown first place in the Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship.

Brown, a Political Science Major from Texas, is a Dean's List student, and founder of the Christendom College Republicans. He is active in state and national campaigns as well as right-to-life projects and the Knights of Columbus.

"We are very proud of Rand," Political Science Professor Dr. William Luckey said. "He's an example of the academic strength and social awareness that we try to foster here."

"The Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship Program seeks to recognize outstanding young people who are promoting American values on college campuses," Phillips Foundation's website sates. "The scholarships are designed to alleviate the financial burdens, permitting the winners to devote more time both to pursuing their academic goals and advancing their leadership initiatives."

The Phillips Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 to advance constitutional principles, a democratic society and a vibrant free enterprise system.
