Patrick Diemer, Christendom College Alumnus, Goes to Eternal Rest
On March 5, 2002,
at approximately 4:15 p.m., Patrick Diemer, Class of 1983, died at Page
County hospital in Luray, VA.
Since mid-January,
Pat had been hospitalized due to having suffered a series of strokes on
January 14th. Although unable to communicate verbally, Pat was able to
understand and communicate (physically) with his many visitors. Throughout
the month and a half of hospitalization, his condition changed almost
daily, sometimes improving but other times getting worse.
On March 5, 2002,
Pat's heart could beat no longer and after receiving the Sacraments of
the Church, he died peacefully with many of his family and friends around
him.
 Pat
was an incredible artist. He has illustrated almost all of Dr. Warren
Carroll's book covers, ranging from Our Lady of Guadalupe to 1917
and is well-know for his oil portraits of Dr. Carroll and Dr. Damian Fedoryka
which hang on a wall outside Christendom's Admissions Office. Up until
his stroke in January, Pat had been the resident artist at Seton Home
Study School located in Front Royal, VA.
Please pray for the
repose of his soul. He will be missed by all those who had the pleasure
of knowing him. And please remember the souls of the other Christendom
alumni who are deceased: Robert Fitzgerald, Damien Meyer, Carrie Slinger,
Timothy Christofili, Stephen Schaefer, Joan Donohue Ellis, and Mary Clampitt
Doran.
