A Whole New Look for the Student Center
Bulldozers
started tearing up concrete in front of Christendom's Pope John Paul the
Great Student Center early morning November 27. Local landscape architect
and artist Joseph E. Duggan is working with Director of Operations Mike
Foeckler on plans
that will enhance the entrance giving the Center a very welcoming façade
Scheduled to be completed
by the end of Christendom's Christmas beak, the plans
include an elegant rose-hued stone patio with a fountain and a statue
of John Paul the Great.
"I am really
excited about this project," Mike Foeckler said. "This is really
going to add a lot of beauty to this campus...really sprucing up an area
where students can relax and mingle."
The
Student Center, which was the home of the old Library, was renovated and
refurnished last April providing students with a convenient location for
the St. Kilian's Café, mailboxes, as well as the offices of Student
Life, Chaplain and Career Development.
Great projects like
this are made possible be the generous
support of donors. The students of Christendom College would like
to thank all those who made this project possible.
