Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has named Christendom College a Best Value College for 2018 in its annual list of the top 300 colleges in the United States.
“Kiplinger’s is one of the best college ranking systems in the United States. To be featured so prominently by them, year after year, is an honor, and a testament to the educational quality and affordability of Christendom College,” says vice president for enrollment Tom McFadden.
The list, which is based on objective measurements of academic quality and affordability, combines together public schools, private universities, and private liberal arts colleges into a single, comprehensive list. Kiplinger’s also ranks the 100 best values in each category.
Christendom earned the ranking of #39 on the list of the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the U.S. for 2018, jumping sixteen spots higher in the annual rankings thanks to its strong admissions rate, 4-year graduation rate, student-faculty ratio, and robust financial aid program. The college was also ranked #75 on the comprehensive list, beating out the University of Southern California, Wake Forest University, the University of Michigan, and Franciscan University of Steubenville. Christendom is also tied at #5 for best 4-year graduation rate in the country with Princeton and Boston College.
“Our rankings, which weigh affordability alongside academic quality, are a great resource for students and their parents when sorting through college choices,” said Mark Solheim, editor of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. “We start with a universe of nearly 1,200 schools and trim the list using measures of academic quality. We then rank the schools based on cost and financial aid data. All 300 schools on our list are worth a look.”
Kiplinger’s Best College Values for 2018 is now available online, and will appear in the print in the February 2018 edition of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, on newsstands January 9.
