Rev. Mr. John Killackey, FSSP, an alumnus and current deacon of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, will become Christendom’s 87th alumnus priest when he is ordained on Friday, May 24. Deacon Killackey, a graduate of the class of 2011, will be ordained at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church by the Most Reverend Fabian Bruskewitz, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Deacon Killackey (center) will be ordained to the priesthood for FSSP on May 24.

Deacon Killackey has been a seminarian with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter since 2012. After graduating from Christendom in 2011, Deacon Killackey taught school for two years, before discerning his call to the priesthood. He will be ordained with three others at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Lincoln, with the ordination being broadcast live on LiveMass.

When he is ordained, he will join seven other FSSP alumni vocations, including Fr. Gerard Saguto, Fr. Joseph Portzer, Fr. Thomas Longua, Fr. Chris Pelster, Fr. Daniel Heenan, Fr. Zach Akers, and Deacon David McWhirter.

Deacon Killackey is the first of five Christendom alumni to be ordained this summer. Deacon Nicholas Blank will be ordained a priest for the Diocese of Arlington on June 8, making him the 17th alumni priest serving in Christendom’s home diocese, while Deacon David Frank will be ordained for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Deacon Steven Wood for the Diocese of Sacramento, and Br. John Mark Solitario, O.P., as a priest in the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph.
