On May 2, Christendom College’s admissions office implemented a waiting list for the fall of 2021. With a record number of applicants this year, the college saw a historic number of students put down their deposits to reserve their spot for the class of 2025. Based on current projections, the college is poised to grow total enrollment by 3% next year, thus showing the vital need and strong desire for the college’s unique educational experience.

“With all the challenges in the world, it has caused many families to re-prioritize what they are looking for in a college education. Our commitment to a vibrant Catholic culture and in-person liberal arts education has been a big draw to families across the country,” says Director of Admission Sam Phillips. “We had to implement waiting lists in the past for admission to the college, but never this early. The demand has never been higher for what we are offering — a testament to how much students want to learn the truth, live the faith, and thrive as Catholics.”

The incoming class includes students from all across the United States and beyond, including from Spain, Canada, and Ireland. Despite living far away, these students are willing to move to Christendom’s campus in Front Royal, Virginia, in order to study and live in the college’s tight knit community.

“God has really protected and blessed Christendom in a special way this past year. We are wrapping up a banner year here in Front Royal and on our Rome campus, too, and we are very excited to welcome these incoming students to our Christendom family in August,” says Phillips.

The waiting list for the fall of 2021 comes in addition to other admissions office records this year, including a record number of campus visits, a record number of competitors in the full-tuition scholarship competition, and a record number of students registered to attend the college’s popular Best Week Ever high school summer program.

For students and families interested in learning more about Christendom, campus tours are available throughout the summer months and the college will be hosting multiple open house events and offering weekly visit opportunities in the fall. To learn more, please visit christendom.edu/visits.
