Nineteen Christendom student-athletes have been named USCAA Academic All-Americans for their academic and athletic excellence during the winter and spring athletic seasons. These athletes, coming in addition to the eighteen student-athletes who were also honored in the fall, showcased the discipline necessary to excel both on the field and in the classroom, representing the best of the college’s athletics program.

To be named an Academic All-American, an athlete must achieve a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have a minimum 24 credits on their transcripts, all while participating in a varsity sport.

The award-winners for spring 2022 include: women’s basketball players Kate Walz, Annie Lauderback, Agnes Wingate, Rachel Grande, Lili Speier; men’s basketball players Andrew Heisler, John Paul Vander Woude, Peter Ethridge, Jack Hofbauer; softball players Anne Chavez, Amelia Coleman, Cecilia McFadden, Meg Williamson, Angelina Fedoryka; and men’s baseball players Max Henrie, Joe Piroch, Frank Scarchilli, and Thomas Dunphy.

Eighteen further student-athletes were honored in the fall by the USCAA, raising the total number of Academic All-Americans for the 2021-22 academic year to 37. In addition, all athletic teams had average GPA’s above 3.0 this year, another indicator that the athletic program at Christendom is excelling in its goals.

These honors provide a capstone to a landmark academic year for Christendom athletics, which also saw the men’s rugby team win the 2021 National Collegiate Rugby 15s Championships and further earn a bid to the May Madness 7s National Championship this coming May.
