Deacon Dominic Winter ’18 will be ordained to the priesthood this Saturday, May 28, in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska. Deacon Winter, who has been studying with fellow alumni at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, will become Christendom’s one-hundred and second alumni priest upon his ordination, helping to spread the joy of Christ to the faithful in the Diocese of Lincoln.

Deacon Winter will be ordained by Bishop James Conley at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, after spending the past several years studying for the priesthood. Already, Deacon Winter is the second Christendom alumnus to be ordained to the priesthood this summer, following the ordination of Fr. John Francis ’09 on May 21.

Following Deacon Winter’s ordination, one more alumnus will be ordained to the priesthood this summer: Deacon Philip Briggs ’13, who will be ordained a priest in Christendom’s home Diocese of Arlington. Deacon Briggs will also become the college’s twenty-second alumni priest in the diocese upon ordination.

Since its founding in 1977, Christendom has helped foster numerous religious vocations, with 101 men currently serving as priests, along with 53 sisters, 3 transitional deacons, 1 permanent deacon, 2 consecrated virgins and 12 more men studying in seminary. In addition, there are also currently 533 alumni marriages, with even more on the way this year.
