Christendom College’s Athletics Department is starting a new chapter this year, revealing new primary and secondary logos ahead of the start of the 2023-24 academic year.

Over the course of the past year, the Athletics Department has worked closely with the college’s Marketing and Communications Department and various other constituencies in the Christendom community to revitalize the department’s logos and bring an exciting new look to the college’s varsity teams and to on-campus athletic venues.

The new primary athletics logo brings a streamlined look to the department’s existing “C” logo, which has been the most prevalent logo historically for the Athletics Department, dating back to 2007. The “C” logo features the Jerusalem cross in the center, which has its origins in the eleventh century and represents the Five Wounds of Christ. This logo will appear on varsity jerseys this academic year.

The new secondary logo replaces the old St. Louis the Crusader athletics logo while continuing the department’s connections to the great saint. The logo features a bold new design, with a traditional helmet of the High Middle Ages in the center, bearing crosses in three locations in honor of the Blessed Trinity. The helmet is centered on a shield which is the exact shape of the shield found in the college’s academic seal, representing the strong connection between academics and athletics at Christendom.

The secondary logo will be available on apparel from the college’s Online Store beginning on August 17, and will slowly be added to athletic venues and other inventory over the next few years.
