Christendom will welcome alumni back to campus for the college’s annual Homecoming weekend, which will take place this year from October 6-8. This three-day event for alumni and their families, which will feature special reunions for the classes of 1983, 1993, 2003, and 2013, varsity sports games, and the Warren H. Carroll Alumni Reception, is now open for registration through October 2.
“Homecoming 2023 will bring alumni back to our beautiful campus to experience the spiritual, intellectual, and social activities that make Christendom so special,l” says Vince Criste, Director of Alumni Relations. “We look forward to hosting alumni as they reconnect with fellow classmates, faculty, and staff. We encourage them to walk campus and especially to take a tour of the new Christ the King Chapel, the crown jewel and heart of our campus.”
The weekend will kick off on Friday, October 6, with a community Holy Hour in the college’s new Christ the King Chapel from 6:30-7:30 p.m., followed by a special Quodlibet and social event in Old Chapel Hall. Featuring a select panel of Christendom faculty, alumni will be able to ask questions of the panel and mingle with students, faculty, and staff.
On Saturday, the Alumni Family Fun Day will be held from 12-5:00 p.m. on the college’s Campion Field, with games, pony rides, and grilled food available to alumni and their families. Varsity sports games will take place at the same time across the street on Crusader Fields, with men’s and women’s soccer playing back-to-back games.
In the evening, class reunions will be held for the Classes of 1993, 2003, and 2013 from 5-8:00 p.m. in St. Louis the Crusader Gymnasium. Simultaneously, there will be a Special 40-Year Anniversary Reunion held in the Crypt of Old Chapel Hall. All alumni who graduated in the 1980s — or who affiliate with the 1980s — are welcome to come and enjoy quality time with classmates celebrating their 40-year milestone. Immediately following, the Warren H. Carroll Alumni Reception will take place in the Gymnasium from 8:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
While this event is taking place, the Student Homecoming Dance will be hosted in the St. Lawrence Commons from 8-11:00 p.m., featuring the return of the Yesterday Swing Orchestra. All alumni are welcome to attend.
On Sunday, all alumni are invited to attend Mass in Christ the King Chapel at 8:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. The next event on Sunday will be the annual East vs. West football game from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Crusader Fields, in which students and alumni can cheer on their respective regions. The fun-filled weekend will come to an end with a debate hosted by the Chester Belloc Debate Society in Regina Coeli Hall, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
