Christendom College has launched a new, seven-part course titled “Proving God’s Existence: Discovering the Divine Through Reason” on its free online learning platform. Taught by Christendom College philosophy professor Dr. Mark Wunsch, the course draws upon the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas to demonstrate not only that God exists, but that the human person ultimately exists for Him as well.

The free course addresses the widespread skepticism surrounding God’s existence in modern culture. Across seven lessons, participants will examine how reason can respond to the claim that God is merely a comforting idea rather than a reality that can be proven. Drawing from Aquinas’ Five Ways, Wunsch’s course provides the clarity necessary to encourage harmony between faith and reason, helping participants learn how what we first come to know through faith can be further supported by rational arguments.

Wunsch earned his licentiate and doctorate in philosophy from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. At Christendom, he teaches across the philosophy core curriculum and several upper-level electives he personally developed, guiding students in rigorous engagement with the perennial questions at the heart of the Catholic philosophical tradition. A frequent lecturer both nationally and internationally, Wunsch is known for presenting complex philosophical ideas with clarity, depth, and fidelity to the Catholic intellectual tradition, making him ideally suited for a course as crucially important as “Proving God’s Existence.”

Accessible on desktop and mobile devices, Wunsch’s course launches with the first two lessons available immediately, and the remaining five will be released weekly through February 16.

“Proving God’s Existence” joins several other free courses available on Christendom’s online learning platform, including Professor Mary Stanford’s Theology of the Body” course and Dr. Andrew Whitmore’s Becoming a Saint: Wisdom from Aquinas to Grow in Virtue course.

Intended to help people everywhere come to better know and love the Catholic Faith, Christendom’s online platform also features other courses such as “The Principles of Catholic Bioethics,” “Understanding Human Nature,” Christ: The Center of History,”Foundations of the New Testament,” and many more.

This initiative reflects Christendom’s longstanding mission to form lay Catholics in the truths of faith and reason and to equip them to live out the truth with confidence and clarity. Through these free online courses, even more people now have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and grow in holiness—at no cost.
