Alumni and benefactors from across the country came together to support Christendom College during its annual Giving Day on April 14, raising more than $110,000 for the college.

Over 600 gifts were generously donated by alumni, students, parents, and other members of the college community to The Carroll Fund, with gifts continuing to be tallied as they come in the mail over the coming days.

Each year, Giving Day raises funds for initiatives directly tied to the college’s mission. This year’s theme, “Connecting Past and Present,” invited participants to reflect on Christendom’s history while celebrating its present community. Throughout the day, familiar faces from across the college appeared in video trivia questions on christendomgivingday.com, testing alumni knowledge of campus past and present.

Correct answers during the trivia contest earned donors extra entries into special prize drawings, with donors winning prize baskets and one grand prize winner, alumnus Dan Vander Woude ‘92, winning a weekend getaway on Virginia’s beautiful Mobjack Bay, generously donated by an alumni family.

“It is beautiful to see so many alumni and their families engage in support of the Christendom mission,” says John Echaniz, Executive Director of Advancement. “The generosity of the extended community, combined with the energetic response to the photos and trivia about the College’s history, made for a fun day. The sense of gratitude on campus among those who benefit from the Carroll Fund makes it especially sweet.”

Christendom College is one of a handful of colleges in the U.S. to not accept Federal funds. It therefore relies on the generosity of benefactors for its financial success and security. The success of Giving Day is a testament to the passion of Christendom’s supporters, who seek to ensure that the college will be able to offer its Catholic, time-tested liberal arts education for generations to come, helping to form future Catholic leaders so needed by the Church and society today.

All donors are members of the Christendom College family and it is never too late to make a donation to The Carroll Fund. Anyone who wants to partner with Christendom to educate the next generation of Catholic leaders can learn more about ways to make an impact at giving.christendom.edu.
