Dear Parents,
While cases of COVID among the student body at Christendom remain low, we are seeing an increase in COVID cases in our local community as well as nation-wide. As you know, our goal this semester is to maintain in-person classes and student events so we can continue to pursue our academic and spiritual mission as a college. Given the current situation, we have decided that it is prudent to not host Parents Weekend this year.
Anyone who has already registered for Parents Weekend via the Eventbrite page will be fully refunded the cost of registration and/or meals. I know a number of people have already made plans to travel to Front Royal, and please know that you are still welcome to come and visit with your students on this (or any) particular weekend. While the residence halls, events, and on-campus dining will not be open to visitors, you are welcome to spend time with your student in outdoor spaces on campus or in the local area.
We are sorry to have to cancel Parents Weekend again and especially only a few weeks away from the event. While we know this is disappointing and difficult, it is ultimately in service to persisting with our on-campus classes and ensuring the health of students, faculty, and staff. Please continue to pray for the health and well-being of our college community, families, and alumni through the intercession of St. Joseph, Our Lady Queen of Christendom, and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
God bless,
Amanda Graf
Vice President of Student Affairs
