The Christendom College Admissions Office will host a special Junior Visit Day for prospective students who are in their junior year of high school on February 16, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., on its Front Royal, Va., campus.

outside-class-girlsAfter a welcome by the Admissions Office staff, students will be given the opportunity to attend introductory classes, taught by Christendom’s own faculty. Students will learn more about Christendom’s Theology, Philosophy, Political Science, and English programs. Following classes, Christendom’s student ambassadors will lead individual tours of the campus, ending up at the Chapel of Christ the King in time for the 11:30 a.m. Mass.

After a complimentary lunch in the St. Lawrence Commons, College President Dr. Timothy O’Donnell will give a presentation on the mission of Christendom College and the benefits of a Catholic liberal arts education. A panel of students, including some members of the Student Life Office staff, will then field questions from the visiting students.

The day will end with a Q&A period and closing remarks by Director of Admissions Tom McFadden who will give some insights into applying to Christendom.

“We selected February 16 because it is President’s Day and many local high schools cancel classes that day. Christendom students have classes that day and so students will be able to see college life ‘in action,’ so to speak,” says McFadden. “Many people from the Northern Virginia area have heard about our college for years, but have never been out to see us. This might be the perfect time for high school juniors to see if Christendom might be the place for them.”

Any high school junior who attends this one-day event will automatically be registered to win a spot in one of the one-week Experience Christendom Summer Programs taking place in the summer. Students interested in attending the visit day must pre-register by contacting Christendom’s Associate Director of Admissions Lauren Clark (lclark@christendom.edu or 800.877.5456 ext. 1293) or by filling in a Junior Visit Day Registration Form.
