TOD-speaking_500Christendom College president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell and philosophy professor Mark Wunsch will co-present a lecture series in Annandale, Va., this month as part of the Institute of Catholic Culture’s summer lecture series. The series is entitled, “Fides et Ratio: The Role of Faith in a Rational World.”

O’Donnell will deliver his lecture on June 6 and Wunsch will present his on June 13.  Both lectures will held be at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church and also via live broadcast at InstituteofCatholicCulture.org. St. Ambrose is located at 3901 Woodburn Road, Annandale, VA 22003.

O’Donnell was the first layman to receive both his licentiate and doctoral degrees in Ascetical and Mystical Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. He has taught at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California and at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. He is a Knight Grand Cross in the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and he is a Consultor to the Pontifical Council for the Family. Additionally, he is the author of Heart of the Redeemer and Swords Around the Cross: The Nine Years War. He has filmed many programs for the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) including Glory of the Papacy and Rome’s Hidden Churches.

wunsch_3704Wunsch pursued his graduate studies at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum), after receiving his B.A. in philosophy from Regis University in Denver, Colo. At the Angelicum, he obtained Ph.B, and Ph.L. degrees in philosophy and is now a Ph.D. candidate set to defend his thesis this year. In addition to teaching at Christendom, Wunsch has traveled widely, lecturing on a variety of topics including the relationship between faith and reason, the connection between philosophy and history, and the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas.
