Newman-Guide-2014-cover-Christendom College is once again ranked by The Cardinal Newman Society in the latest edition of The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College and highlighted as a “model for Catholic liberal arts colleges.”

The Guide, which was published today, October 7, 2013, and its updated companion magazine My Future, My Faith, makes searching for and getting advice on faithful Catholic colleges and universities easy.

“For more than 35 years, Christendom College has made a vital contribution to American Catholic life through its solid spiritual formation and its liberal arts curriculum. What was once a tiny holdout against the decline of higher education is today a model for Catholic liberal arts colleges, with a well-deserved reputation even in Rome,” reports the Guide.

“I am happy that The Newman Guide has once again recognized the immense value of a Christendom College education,” Director of Admissions Tom McFadden said. “Our rigorous academics, coupled with a vibrant spiritual and extra-curricular life, sets Christendom apart from many other colleges, and the Guide does a great job of illustrating these differences.”

Published since 2007, The Newman Guide recommends 28 colleges, universities, and online programs for strength of Catholic identity and academic excellence, with an emphasis on undergraduate education.  Primary sections include in-depth information on academics, spiritual life, residence life, and student activities.

“It is important to remember, though,” says McFadden, “that not all the colleges in the Guide are the same, and that some are quite diverse in their educational and extra-curricular offerings on campus. It is important not to lump all the Newman Guide colleges together, but rather, to discover the differences and which ones better suit your needs.”

A photo of Christendom College students is featured on the cover of this year’s guide. The photo highlights the college’s beautiful campus and Chapel of Christ the King, which the Guide describes as being at the center of both the campus and of campus life.

At the request of countless Catholic families, the Newman Society asked nearly 100 questions of each college on everything from Mass and confession times to what majors are offered, and from visiting hours in the dorms to a list of campus clubs and activities, and everything in between.  Updated answers from the colleges are now available.
