All three of Christendom’s fall sports teams are preparing to close their seasons with strong winning records this week. The men and women soccer teams along with the women volleyball team have seen successful seasons, which were marked by victories over six NCAA Division III schools.
Over the past week, both soccer teams and the volleyball team secured winning records for their respective seasons. Women’s soccer won its game on October 8 against NCAA Division III Gallaudet University 5-0, with two goals each by freshmen Anne Nelson and Dylan Burgess. On October 11, the men’s soccer team defeated Davis College 3-2 in overtime with a goal by freshman James Salmon. The women’s volleyball team also secured a winning record, sweeping Central Penn 3-0 in a home game on Tuesday evening with senior Clare Duda, sophomore Mary Solitario, and junior Bridget McMahon each serving four or more aces.
All three teams will end their seasons this coming week with home games. This evening at 5 p.m., the Lady Crusaders soccer team will attempt to achieve another victory in a home game against Trinity University on Crusader Fields. On Wednesday, October 15, the volleyball team will play against Washington Adventist at 7:30 p.m. The women’s soccer team finishes its run versus Patrick Henry College in a home game at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 16. Finally, the men’s soccer team will also play its last match against Patrick Henry in a home game on Friday, October 17 at 5 p.m.
