record-applicantsApplications for admission to Christendom College for the upcoming academic year are at a record high, as the March 1 regular admission application deadline quickly approaches. With only a few days left before the regular application deadline, the admissions office is looking to break all previous records, and bring in the largest class in the school’s history this fall.

“Not only am I pleased by the increased number of applications we have received this year as compared to last, but I am very impressed by the strong caliber of the candidates pursuing admission here at Christendom,” says director of admissions Sam Phillips. “The word is out about how Christendom’s challenging Catholic liberal arts education helps its alumni achieve greatness, and students are truly interested in receiving that type of transformative, broad education now more than ever.”

Phillips attributes the success of his office to a number of things, with the scholarship matching program being one of the highlights.

“We do not want anyone – not one student – to decide not to attend Christendom because of financial offers from other schools. We are very competitive in this area, and our scholarship matching program shows this.  We are also giving full-tuition scholarships to two winners of our Padre Pio Scholarship Competition, and to a select number of National Merit Scholarship Finalists,” says Phillips.

The admissions office has received 12% more applications over last year at this time, and the number of registrants for this summer’s Experience Christendom Summer Program has more than doubled.

Christendom College has been providing one of the most rigorous liberal arts educations in the nation for the past 37 years, gaining a reputation for academic excellence, personalized attention, and commitment to student success along the way. With new initiatives being undertaken to improve campus life, particularly in academic and athletic offerings, Christendom is becoming an even stronger leader among Catholic colleges today.
