The faculty of Christendom College will soon be receiving an expansion to their current office space, with the construction of the two-story Madonna Hall office building beginning this past month. Overlooking the beautiful Shenandoah River, the new office building will bring much needed office space to the faculty, while also adding a larger, more central location for the faculty to socialize, meet with students, and further their own intellectual pursuits.
“This is an exciting development for not just the faculty, but for the college as a whole,” says vice president of operations and facility planning Mike Foeckler. “The building will bring much-needed expansion for the current faculty office-space on campus, and, due to its size, it will also allow for room for future growth as well.”
With a planned completion date of July 1, the new Madonna Hall office building’s 3200 square feet of space will look to solve the current space limitations the faculty are experiencing on campus.
The faculty currently operates in the existing Madonna Hall office buildings, near Regina Coeli Hall, the college’s main administrative building. With a growing faculty, the current office building space is becoming limited in its size, and lacks a central location for the faculty to meet and mingle. The new, two-story building will solve those problems, housing ten new offices for the faculty, in addition to a new faculty lounge as well.
“The faculty is very excited by the construction of the new office building — but, most of all, we are very appreciative to the college for this development, and are excited to see the finished product come the summer,” says vice president of academic affairs Dr. Greg Townsend.
The construction of the new Madonna Hall office building comes in addition to other new building initiatives on campus, including the recent ground-breaking for the new admissions office suite, which will be located on the back of Regina Coeli Hall. The new St. Kevin’s business office recently opened in January on the east side of campus near the Crusader athletic fields as well.
