bersnak-1Christendom College political science and economics professor Dr. Bracy Bersnak will deliver a talk on Tuesday, August 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Spirit Church Hall in Annandale, Va. Sponsored by the Institute of Catholic Culture, Bersnak’s talk is titled ‘Catholicism, Communism, & the Common Good.”

Taught as part of Christendom’s core curriculum, the Catholic Church’s struggle with communism is central to understanding modern Church history. Bersnak will examine the conflict between Catholicism and communism at the level of doctrine and politics, with special reference to their rival conceptions of the common good.

Dr. Bersnak received his B.A. from Miami University, before earning two M.A.s and his Ph.D. in political theory from the Catholic University of America.  The chairman of the department of political science and economics at Christendom, Bersnak is a popular lecturer on various topics, including political theory, the social teachings of the Church, and the thought of Blessed John Henry Newman. He has been published in The American SpectatorCrisis Magazine, and more.
