Christendom College recently appointed Kelsey Gordon as the new assistant director of student activities. An English language and literature major and history minor from the class of 2015, Gordon will be working closely with the student life office in enhancing the student experience on campus throughout the year, in addition to being the main point of contact for St. Kilian’s Café.
The student life office created the new position of assistant director of student activities earlier this year in order to assist director of student activities Caitlin Bowers in overseeing all club and student events, as well as the student activities council (SAC).
Gordon, who was very active in campus life while a student, from peer editing to volunteering with SAC, will work closely with students to help in their formation while they are on campus, from assisting and supervising the planning of SAC events to coordinating school-wide events such as the March for Life and the annual Discernment Weekend. Gordon will support the director of student activities in training and mentoring the SAC throughout the year, in addition to helping select and train all Class Officers.
As assistant director of student activities, Gordon will also coordinate and supervise the operation of the on-campus St. Kilian’s Café, a popular location for events, social gatherings, and study sessions throughout the year.
“Guiding students as they conceive, plan, and execute over fifty events every semester can be daunting, but it’s one of the most rewarding jobs on this campus. Having someone as dedicated, enthusiastic, and talented as Kelsey is a true blessing for this office and for the student body as a whole. I cannot wait to see all of the incredible effects she is going to have on Christendom’s campus this year and for years to come,” says Bowers.
