Christendom College is pleased to announce two Open House events for the fall of 2015: Monday, October 12 and Friday, November 13. The Open Houses will allow prospective students and their families the unique opportunity to attend classes, tour the campus, listen to presentations, and experience an authentic taste of what everyday life is like at Christendom.
“Prospective students and their families have consistently enjoyed these opportunities in past years, ranking their experience with near perfect ratings,” says associate director of admissions Zac Inman, who organizes these events.
“It’s a great chance to see how Christendom College is giving students the opportunity to pursue greatness during their four years here, whether it be in the classroom or outside of it. We had over 250 participants last year — a new record for Open House attendance. People just can’t wait to experience what Christendom has to offer,” he said.
One of the most appealing aspects of a Christendom education is the college’s commitment to the liberal arts. As noted in many recent surveys and news articles, a liberal arts education is becoming more and more in demand. Christendom’s emphasis on writing, communication skills, analytical thought, and critical thinking empowers its students to achieve greatness post-graduation. Gaining a broad education, with the ability to see the big picture and to become a conceptualizer, sets liberally educated Christendom students apart from their peers.
Over the course of the day, students and their families will hear addresses from college president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell and director of admissions Sam Phillips, in addition to informational sessions on the importance of the liberal arts, Christendom’s career services, and how the college makes its education affordable for families. They further discover the Christendom difference in the classroom and outside of it, as they tour the campus and visit with current students and faculty in class and at lunch.
“We are known as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation for our outstanding quality and affordability,” says Inman. “College is a big consideration, and we want everyone to be as well informed as possible. Coming to one of our open house events is a big step toward achieving that goal.”
The college is currently having an outstanding recruiting year, leading to the largest freshman class and total enrollment in college history when the 2015-16 academic year begins August 25.
