competition-2016The application deadline for Christendom College’s 2015-16 Padre Pio full-tuition scholarship competition is on January 15, 2016. The competition, which should draw approximately 50 contestants, will award two incoming freshmen a four-year full-tuition scholarship. The competition will be held on Christendom’s campus on February 29, 2016.

“This will be an exciting, and steep, competition this year, to say the least. With so many qualified students already accepted to the college, the challenge to select only two candidates will be more difficult than ever,” says director of admissions Sam Phillips.

Applications for Christendom’s fall 2016 semester are up 25% so far this year, with many of the accepted students having applied for the scholarship competition. When submitting applications for the competition, incoming students are deemed eligible by achieving specific standardized tests scores, writing an essay on a certain topic, and meeting with a panel of Christendom faculty members.

During the competition, students will sit in on classes, hear from college president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell, be interviewed by a faculty panel, tour the campus, and mingle during dinner with Christendom’s esteemed faculty. Parents will also hear from Dr. O’Donnell, as well as from admissions director Sam Phillips on such topics as financial aid, alumni and careers, the semester in Rome program, and much more.

All eligible incoming students must have their application materials submitted to the college by January 15 in order to be considered for the competition on February 29.
