Christendom College will host a Divine Mercy Conference for the college community this coming Wednesday, February 17. Featuring speakers from Christendom’s faculty, as well as alumnus Fr. Joseph Mary Brown, the conference will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the crypt of Christ the King Chapel.
In honor of the Year of Mercy, proclaimed by Pope Francis, college president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell will speak on “Pope Francis’ Vision for the Year of Mercy;” philosophy chair Dr. John Cuddeback will speak on “A Philosopher’s Take on God’s Justice and Mercy;” theology professor Dr. James DeFrancis will give a reflection on “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy;” and Fr. Joseph Mary Brown will conclude with a talk on “The Cross and Merciful Love.”
After the conference, the college community will join together in the chapel for a chanting of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, as well as the Litany of Mercy. Three priests will also be available to hear confessions at the end of the conference.
