Christendom College will sponsor and be featured at this year’s National Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Homeschool and Parent Conference in Fredericksburg, Va., on June 24-25. The largest Catholic homeschool and parent conference in the nation, the conference will include presentations on Christendom from associate director of admissions Zac Inman, as well as a talk from theology professor, and nationally recognized marriage expert, Mary Stanford.
Christendom is the only collegiate sponsor of the national IHM conference, after being featured at the conference numerous times over the past decade. When families arrive at this year’s conference, they will be able to learn all about the Christendom experience at the college’s vendor table, where they will be able to pick up informational packets and ask one-on-one questions of Inman. For families looking to learn even more about the college, they will be able to attend a special multimedia presentation on the college during the conference’s College Fair on Saturday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m.
At 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, families will be able to attend an exclusive talk from Mary Stanford titled “Helping our Kids Converse, Concentrate, and Create in a Culture of Distraction.” Stanford, an expert on marriage, femininity, and Christian anthropology, has been teaching part-time at Christendom since 2003, after earning her M.T.S. from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family.
During her talk, Stanford will touch upon the biblical foundations of human communication, and how we can give today’s generation authentic personal communication skills, amidst a culture that pushes technology excessively at every turn.
The National IHM Conference is one of many homeschool conferences Christendom will be featured at this summer. From July through August, the college will also be seen at IHM’s regional conferences, which will occur everywhere from Tampa, Fl., to Chicago, Ill.
