volleyball-1 Christendom’s women’s volleyball team has officially released its schedule for the fall of 2016, as announced by college athletic director Patrick Quest. Coming off a successful 2015 season, the Lady Crusaders will hit the court for ten matches, three tri-matches, one quad-match, and one tournament this fall.

Under the leadership of returning head coach Josh Peterson, the young Lady Crusaders will begin their season with the USCAA’s annual Tipoff Classic tournament on August 26-27, at Penn State Beaver. Following the tournament, the Crusaders will play another four days on the road, beginning with a tri-match at Mid-Atlantic Christian University on September 3 and ending with a quad-match against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County on September 10. The Lady Crusaders will return home to the passionate Crusader fan base on September 13, playing against crosstown rival Lord Fairfax Community College at 7:00 p.m.

After playing a tri-match at home on September 17, the Lady Crusaders will hit the road for a match against Penn State Mont Alto on September 22, and a match up in New York on September 24. The Lady Crusaders will finish the month of September at home, with games against Washington Adventist College and Trinity University.

The Lady Crusaders will open October with a trio of games at home, from October 3-8. After facing Lord Fairfax Community College and Penn State Mont Alto, the Lady Crusaders will play their final time at home for the season during Homecoming Weekend, playing host to a tri-match at Crusader Gymnasium. The Lady Crusaders will close their season at Appalachian Bible College on October 20.

The Christendom volleyball program exceeded expectations last year, finishing the season 11-6 with an incredibly young team — strong enough for the #11 best winning percentage in the nation. The passionate home crowd gave them a boost in home matches, leading to the Lady Crusaders winning six of their seven matches at Crusader Gymnasium, including two five-hour tri-matches that revealed the team’s incredible determination and endurance on the court.
