The match will mark only the second time that the Crusaders have taken on the Tribe in rugby. Since being invited to compete in the Cardinals Rugby Conference — a conference in the NSCRO, a part of USA Rugby — Christendom has taken on some of the nation’s biggest teams, including Duke University, James Madison University, and Cornell.
Christendom already played Duke this season, drawing them in a dramatic opening day comeback, before defeating the University of Richmond and Lord Fairfax. With a win on Saturday, the Crusaders have a shot at the #1 spot in their division, before heading into the regional championships in November.
William & Mary, which is famous for being the first college in the United States, is currently 1-3 on their respective season, but has won state championships for rugby in past years.
The match will take place at Trinkle Hall on William & Mary’s historic campus, located at 108 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, Va. For more information, please visit christendomathletics.com.
