Alumnus John Mark Solitario, O.P., will take his solemn profession of vows this weekend with the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph, bringing him one step closer to being ordained a priest in the Dominican Order.

Solitario, O.P, has been studying with the Dominican Friars and will make his solemn profession this weekend.

Solitario (’11) will make his solemn profession in the Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10.

Solitario has been studying with the Dominican Friars since graduation, starting as a novice before taking the simple vow of obedience. Solitario has also visited Christendom during its annual discernment weekend, speaking with students about becoming a Dominican Friar.

Solitario is part of a rich history of alumni who have joined the religious life after graduating from Christendom, including 83 alumni priests, over 50 alumni religious sisters and brothers, and currently 25 alumni men in seminary or religious formation.
