Crusader rugby will return to the NSCRO National Championship, after resoundingly earning a berth in the Central East 7s Qualifier tournament. Sweeping through their opponents, Christendom earned their spot amongst the best teams in the nation and will look to defend their 2017 National Championship this June.

The Crusaders will aim to defend their National title this June in Philadelphia.

Christendom arrived at Founders Field in Cheswick, Pennsylvania, after taking 3rd in an NSCRO 7s qualifier tournament the weekend before. Hungry to defend their 2017 title, the Crusaders made short work of their early opponents, outscoring them 115-10. The Crusaders defeated American University in the quarterfinal match 33-14 to end their first day of pool play.

Early Sunday morning, the Crusaders returned to work, defeating Loyola 31-10 in the semifinal. All that stood between Christendom and a berth was St. Mary’s — fittingly, their final opponent from last year’s National Championship. Christendom ran all over them 40-7, winning the tournament and their place at the National Championship.

Christendom will again compete at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia, June 2-3. More information on tickets will be available soon.
