College president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell will throw out the first pitch at the Front Royal Cardinals baseball game on Friday, June 22, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is part of the Knights of Columbus/Christendom College co-sponsored “Catholic Night” at Bing Crosby Stadium in Front Royal, Virginia.
This is the second “Catholic Night” of the year at Bing Crosby stadium. While 700 spectators arrived for the last game, the Knights of Columbus are hoping to fill the stadium to capacity for the upcoming matchup. In addition to the first pitch from O’Donnell, children will be able to run the bases after the game.
The Cardinals are part of the Valley Baseball League, which fields college baseball players during the summer. They are currently leading the Northern Division by a comfortable margin but will be playing the second-place team that evening, the Purcellville Cannons, making the game an exciting matchup.
Admission to the game is free with a flyer, which allows entrance for an entire family.
