Christendom’s campus has seen great development over the past forty years, with the creation of new buildings, the acquirement of more property for the athletics fields, and more. This summer, the college continued to enhance the campus for its students, faculty, and staff by improving residence halls, the college gymnasium, the faculty offices, and by installing new lighting across campus.

The college takes advantage of the lack of activity on campus during the summer months each year, focusing on different areas of campus to work on. One of this year’s focuses: the continued enhancement of the college residence halls. New flooring was put into the men’s residence halls, particularly St. Benedict Residence Hall, along with fresh paint in many of the rooms as well.

Similar updates were made over in the Madonna Hall faculty offices, with intensive remodeling done to a few of the offices. These offices once housed students when the college was first founded, and have seen many improvements over the years in order to make them more conducive to faculty research and for hosting office hours for students.
In St. Louis the Crusader Gymnasium, continued work was done on repainting, repairing, and improving the walls of the gym. New wainscoting now covers the bottom half of all the walls on the bottom floor of the gym, while a remodel of the main office now finished as well. The renovations to the residence halls, Madonna Hall, and Crusader Gymnasium were all done by St. Luke’s Painting and Remodeling LLC, an alumnus-owned company.
In addition, new lighting was installed across campus. While the campus had light poles across campus in the past, Christendom wanted to make the campus even brighter at night with the addition of strategically placed new lighting, making the college easier to navigate during the evening hours.
More campus additions are planned in the coming future, especially the building of the college’s new Christ the King Chapel. For more information on how to contribute to the Chapel and the Campaign for Christendom, click here.
