Christendom students will step into the ring for the “War on the Shores” Boxing Tournament on Saturday, November 3, in Crusader Gymnasium. Hosted by the student-led Christ’s Cross Boxing Club, the event will feature the club’s four most skilled boxers competing and showcasing the virtues of the ancient sport.

Founded by alumnus and current associate director of admissions Michael Mazzara while he was a student, the Christ’s Cross Boxing Club has steadily attracted more students each year. During the week, the most skilled boxers lead practices for the club, showing new students both how to box and how to stay in shape as well.

Since its creation, the club has hosted one tournament a year, with this marking the first time a tournament will be held during the fall semester. The tournament will begin at 7:00 p.m. on November 3, and admission to the event is $5 for adults, $3 for students, professors, and faculty, and $2 for senior citizens. Children 12 and under will be admitted for free.
