Founding faculty member Dr. Kristin Burns passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, in her final battle with cancer. The college will host her funeral and wake on campus this weekend.

On Friday, April 5, the wake will be held in the Crypt of Christ the King Chapel from 6:00-8:50 p.m. All are invited to attend in order to visit the family and to say last goodbyes. Dr. Burns will then be taken into the Chapel for a Holy Hour and to lie in repose all evening.

On Saturday, April 6, the Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel, immediately followed by her burial in the Founders’ Graveyard (located behind the Regina Coeli main administrative building). A reception will be held in St. Lawrence Commons at approximately 2:30 p.m., with faculty, staff, alumni and their families, along with family friends, invited to the reception.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Christendom College Graduate School of Theology. If you wish to send condolences, please send those to P.O. Box 1405, Front Royal, VA 22630.

Please keep Dr. Burns and her family in your prayers.

If you are planning on attending either the Wake or the Reception, please RSVP to Brenda Seelbach at brenda.seelbach@christendom.edu.

Eternal Rest grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
