Alumnus Deacon John Mark Solitario, O.P., will become Christendom’s 88th alumnus priest on Saturday, May 25, when he is ordained by the Most Rev. Robert Barron at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
Deacon Solitario ‘11 has been studying with the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph and will serve in that province (which covers from Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, northward to Maine) following his ordination.
The ordination, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Upper Church of the Basilica, is open to the public. The ordination also marks the first time that Bishop Barron, a friend of the Dominican House of Studies, will preside at a priestly ordination.
Following the ordination of Rev. John Killackey, FSSP, today, three more alumni ordinations will occur this summer: Deacon Nicholas Blank will become a priest for the Diocese of Arlington, Deacon David Frank will be ordained for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and Deacon Steven Wood will be ordained for the Diocese of Sacramento. These ordinations will raise the total number of alumni priests to 91.
