Christendom’s 2018-19 Crusader rugby team continues to bring in awards long after the end of the season, with the announcement from USA Rugby that two Christendom players have been named to the 2018-19 USA Rugby Academic Honor Roll. Joining students from 53 other colleges, these players stood out due to their academic prowess and their competitive play during the season.

200 players overall were named to USA Rugby’s Academic Honor Roll, hailing from Stanford, Georgetown, Yale, and more. Christendom seniors Michael LaRochelle and Jacob Cassidy joined these students on the Honor Roll, thanks to their cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or higher and for competing on Christendom’s team for more than half of the team’s scheduled matches.

Christendom athletes are often recognized for their academic achievements each year, with numerous players named Academic All-Stars and more. The college was even awarded the USCAA’s President’s Cup this year for the college’s overall academic performance from its athletes. This latest honor adds to an already impressive list of accomplishments in 2018-19, including three National Championship berths (USCAA DII Volleyball National Championship, NSCRO 15s National Championship, and NSCRO 7s National Championship).
