The rugby team travelled to Richmond this weekend to play its first game of the season. They faced Virginia Commonwealth University and crushed their opponent with a 59-5 win. With many seasoned athletes returning, as well as 6 freshmen on the roster, it will be exciting to see these athletes grow as a team. Players and fans alike are looking forward to the rugby team’s first home game against Hampden-Sydney College this Saturday at 11am on Crusader Field.

The women’s soccer team also came out victorious over the weekend, with a 3-2 win against Potomac State of WVU on Saturday. This win brings them to a 5-1 record for the season. Their next game is at home on Wednesday, September 18 at 4:30pm against Central Penn.

On Saturday, after a hard fight, the women’s volleyball team lost to Penn State-Greater Allegheny and Penn State-Monte Alto. With many new members and freshman on the team, this team treats every game as an opportunity to learn and improve in the sport. Their next game is away against Wilson College on Tuesday, September 17.

The men’s soccer team lost to Potomac State College of WVU 7-2 on Saturday, bringing their record to 0-3. Their next game is at home on Tuesday, September 17 at 4:30pm against Northern Virginia CC.
